Important: By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site or engage my services.

By accessing my website at rootlineweb.co, you agree to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on Rootline Web Co.'s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

• modify or copy the materials;
• use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
• attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on Rootline Web Co.'s website;
• remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
• transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on any other server.

Custom builds are invoiced in two payments. Half of the contract price is payable on signature and secures a place in the build queue. The balance is due on launch, and the files, domain and accounts are transferred into your name once it clears. Neither payment is a retainer and nothing further is owed afterwards. Single-page builds below the split-payment threshold are invoiced once, in full, and carry the same terms in every other respect.

Work begins when a slot becomes available rather than on a fixed date, since slots are released as projects complete, and a start date is agreed at that point.

Taking a while to get your content and intake over is not by itself grounds for a refund, and it does not cost you anything either. If you are simply not ready, the payment stays credited to your build in full, for as long as it takes you, and no further payment is needed to pick the work back up whenever you are.

Refunds are otherwise possible and are handled case by case, so ask rather than assume, and ask rather than going quiet. Circumstances that have genuinely changed, such as the business no longer existing, or work you are honestly still unhappy with after the revision rounds have been used, are the kind of thing to raise. Any refund takes account of the work already delivered.

You will be asked to complete an intake covering brand preferences, content and reference material. It is issued on signature and may be completed in writing or in conversation, whichever suits you. Design work does not normally begin until it is complete, though where the direction for a build is already clear Rootline Web Co. may begin sooner at its own discretion.

If your slot opens and you are not reachable, or you are not able to give a timeline for the intake, you will be contacted before anything changes. You may keep the slot, or take a later one so that a project which is ready can go ahead first. No place is reassigned without that conversation happening first.

Where a timeline agreed in that conversation passes without progress, or where a slot has stood open for a month, the slot is released to the next project and yours returns to the queue. Nothing already paid is lost or reduced, no further payment is required to pick the build back up, and work starts again at your next slot once the intake is complete.

The first deliverable of a build is three home page design directions, presented together at a single link. They are working pages rather than finished ones, and selecting one opens the first revision round. In each round you may request changes to any part of the work, including layout, structure, copy, imagery and the removal or addition of sections. Revised work is submitted for your approval and no round proceeds until the previous one is approved. The number of rounds included is set by the scope of the build and is stated in the contract before any payment is made.

One of One websites are sold once. On purchase, the listing is retired and the design will not be sold, copied, or re-used for another business. Once your site has launched, the sale is final and no refunds are issued.

The materials on Rootline Web Co.'s website are provided on an 'as is' basis. Rootline Web Co. makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

Read this section carefully. It limits my legal liability to you.

In no event shall Rootline Web Co. or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Rootline Web Co.'s website, even if Rootline Web Co. or a Rootline Web Co. authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.

The materials appearing on Rootline Web Co.'s website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. Rootline Web Co. does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current. Rootline Web Co. may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
